Erna Kim Hacket- Founder
Erna is a preacher, coach, entrepreneur, and public theologian committed to creating liberative healing spaces. She is the founder of Liberated Together, which she launched in 2019 to support women of color, queer WOC, trans and non-binary folks deconstructing Christianity and reimagining faith. Erna’s work is rooted in a commitment to help folks heal from spiritual and systemic harm so they can lead authentically and build the communities they deeply desire—ones shaped by justice, wholeness, ancestral wisdom, and collective liberation.
Born in Seattle, she was raised in the Korean immigrant church. Erna spent 18 years working in a white evangelical college ministry, where she led social justice programs and supported
Black Campus Ministries. In 2018, she became Executive Pastor at The Way Christian Center, a historically Black, justice-focused church in Berkeley, California. Erna holds a Master’s in Intercultural Studies from the Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies, where she deepened her engagement with Indigenous worldviews and decolonial frameworks. In 2023, Erna launched Liberated Together Spiritual Direction School, training WOC, queer WOC, and non-binary individuals to offer spiritual care in their own communities.
Erna lives in the Bay Area with her husband of 17 years. Child-free by choice, she finds joy in hiking with her dog and savoring good cheese.
